Here is a shot of a classic Corvette, taken on an old Mamiyaflex 1957 TLR (Twin Lens Reflex) camera. This beautiful car was part of a classic car show in Detroit. Film used was Ilford HP4, 120 (6×6) medium format film. Shooting a 1950’s automotive icon with a 1950’s camera only seemed fitting. The process of shooting with that type of camera is very different – you must take your time, compose carefully, set your exposures and f-stops. You must manually meter the light. It becomes a momentary relationship with the subject and your vision. It is the opposite of a snapshot.
